The Secret

She came back home shaken from the trauma,
What happened with her couldn’t be termed karma.

Cautiously moving through the silent night,
she entered the bathroom and turned off the light.

With both her arms stretched out in the room,
she hoped to seek the hands that brought her to this doom.

When she found those hands waiting out there,
she hugged into them crying, the world is not fair.

She was hushed and consoled,
and when her sobbing had stopped, she was told:

“Don’t listen to that doctor,
he knows not you and I.
He is but a destructor,
you have no option but to lie.

Tell them that you’re fine,
that you go to bed by nine.
Be confident and clear,
but don’t tell them I was here.

You didn’t have to go to the hospital,
and didn’t have to be termed illogical.
Remember I’m here only for you,
the world is false, except we two.”

She wiped the hot tears off her cheek,
and decided not to let anyone label her a freak.

From that day hence, she never again complained.
What she saw, heard, and felt, were inside her contained.
